Salted Mackerel in Onion Sauce


  1. Mackerel 600 g
  2. Onions 200 g
  3. Tomatoes 180 g
  4. Fresh dill 50 g
  5. Garlic 3 cloves
  6. Vegetable oil 4 tbsp
  7. Ground black pepper 1/2 tsp
  8. Soy sauce 4 tbsp
  9. Salt 2 tsp
  10. Rice vinegar (can be replaced with apple) 1 tbsp.

Step 1.

To clean the fish from the insides and remove the gills, rinse thoroughly with cold water. Cut into small pieces of 1.5 centimeters thick.

Step 2

Cut onions, tomatoes into medium sized slices, garlic into thin slices, chop dill.

Step 3

Add vegetable oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, pepper, salt to the chopped vegetables, mix thoroughly and knead all the ingredients by hand.

Step 4

Put the fish in a container, pour evenly on top of the prepared sauce with vegetables.

Step 5

Cover and leave at room temperature for 3 hours. After 3 hours, the mackerel is ready. Serve with onion sauce, in which the fish was pickled, boiled potatoes and vegetables.
